Recipes for the Daniel Fast

Spicy Veggie Sticks

Spicy House Seasoning to taste (see recipe below)

2 Tbsps Olive Oil

6 carrots, washed

4 potatoes, washed

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees
  • Clean and peel the above vegetables. Cut them into thick sticks resembling fries.
  • Toss them in the olive oil until coated evenly.
  • Place them in a single layer on a cookie sheet and bake them on the top rack for 20mins (or until crispy) turning them every 5 or 10 mins.
  • While hot sprinkle with House Spicy Seasoning mix (to taste)

Spicy House Seasoning

3/4 tsp celery seed

3/4 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tbsp ground mustard seed

1 tbsp onion powder

2 tbsps garlic powder

2 tbsps salt

2 tbsps pepper

You do not have to use the Spicy House Seasoning. You can use your favorite seasonings that correlate with the Daniel Fast.

Pizza

Pizza Sauce (see below)

Whole Grain Pizza Crust (see below)

1 whole zucchini, sliced

1/2 whole red bell pepper, chopped

5 whole sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil

1/4 whole red onion, sliced

1 6oz fresh sliced mushrooms

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Prepare pizza sauce and crust (see below)
  • Arrange your favorite vegetables on top and bake for 30 mins or until crust is crispy.

You can use any veggies and greens that you like to go on top. For instance I would use mushrooms and spinach.

Pizza Sauce

1 6oz. can tomatoe paste

3 tbsps minced garli, jar is ok

3 tbsps Italian seasoning

1 tsp fennel seed

2 tbsps olive oil

1/4 cup water

1 pinch salt

Instructions:

  • Mix all the ingredients together and let sit for 30mins. This is a good time to make the Pizza crust.

The sauce is good for 7 days in the refigerator

Or you can use spagettie sauce (check the ingredients!)

Whole Grain Pizza Crust

2 cups whole grain, whole wheat flour

1/3 cup olive oil

1 cup water

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp fennel seed

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1 tbsp olive oil for pan

Instructions:

  • Mix flour, salt, and seasonings in a large bowl.
  • Add oil and work into the flour well, until the oil and flour are combined.
  • As you are mixing the dough with your hands, slowly add 1 cup of water. This should form a well behaved dough.
  • Knead until smooth.. If too dry add small amounts of water (1tbsp at a time). If it is too sticky, add (1tbsp of flour at a time).
  • Press into a greased sheet to make one large pizza or roll out into individual sized pizzas. You can use a tortilla press to make small pizzas. Makes 6-8 individual sized pizzas.

Mango Pineapple Smoothie

11/4 cups Silk Organic Soy Milk (Vanilla)

3/4 cup frozen mango chunks

1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks

1 packet stevia

Instructions:

  • Place the ingredients in a blender and blend on high for several minutes. You may have to stop the blender and stir the fruit on the bottom.
