I hope that everyone is having a good week so far.  I feel really good about what the staff has been able to get down this week.  The newsletters were mailed out yesterday which is always a big task.

Today, I am heading out in a few minutes to go and see James Neesmith in the hopsital.  He really needs your prayers.  The doctors told the family that it is just a matter of time.  I am believing God to raise Brother James up.

We are having church tonight at 7:00 and then I hear that there is going to be a huge fireworks display by the brothers from a different mother going on in Cochran.  I hope that Tim doesn’t have flashbacks from Iraq!  Btw, Are we supposed to bring food?

I will be giving everyone the Daniel fast information later on today online and I am working on starting a New Life Church blog for the fast.  I love you all and I hope to see you tonight.  Peace

I am a little behind so bear with me.  I was expecting our crowd to be a little down due to it being the holidays and with us having so many of our leadership out of town.  We had 163 in attendance.  I preached on Vision and I thought that we had an awesome reponse from the people.  I loved it!!!!!  Musically we suffered due to the fact that we had so many of our regular praise team members out.  We did have some very bright spots as Tina R and Caleb E gave us all that they had and I know that it is only the beginning for them.

Last night we honored Tim Whitehead who is on leave from Iraq.  He presented the church with a flag and plaque that honors our church for the gifts that we have sent to the soldiers over there.  Danny Joiner has spearheaded the efforts to constantly sends gifts and supplies over there so he deserves big thanks for his hard work there.

All is good this week and today was very productive.  Newsletters will be mailed out tomorrow…….

To all of the New Lifer’s that read this blog, please pray for James NeeSmith.  He is a great man of God who needs to be lifted up by his church family.  He is in the hospital in Macon with pneumonia.

I had a pretty full day and tomorrow is going to be packed.  Jeff Turner has just started a blog and it is going to be one that you need to bookmark.  His site is http://jeffdturner.wordpress.com/.  Check it out and leave him a comment.

What can I say except Wow!  Today was just a crazy hectic day that followed a crazy hectic week.  We had a total of 329 in service this morning.  Yeah, I am telling the truth…that is right 329.  We offered the first ever two worship services at New Life.  We had 155 at the 8:45 and 174 during the 10:45.  I don’t really know what to say other than Praise the Lord.

Now let me tell you about the good stuff.  We had 6 people accept Christ into their lives today.  Awesome!!!!  We had a great turnout this evening at our annual Candle light service.  It may be my favorite service of the year.

I can’t say enough about the job of our Children’s leaders.  They were outstanding today.  The future of New Life is so bright that I think that I will need Sunglasses!

I am working tomorrow and Tuesday and then I am headed to Florida.  I will be updating a lot of stuff this week so make sure to stay caught up.

Hope all is well with everyone out there.  Sorry for not doing better about my blogging.  I am behind and probably won’t ever catch up this week.  Everything is just busy right now.  We had Senior Luncheon yesterday and it went great with 62 in attendance.  The guest Speaker was Pastor Dewain Joiner.

Last night at church we had 103 in attendance.  It was a really good turnout.  Today, I am going to be working on a Christmas stage as well as 300 Christmas canes.  Just lots to do.  Peace~

Busy, Busy day.  After this morning’s service, Sarah had to go into work so I stayed in Eastman with the children while she finished up some stuff.  This morning’s service was just kinda there.  I felt flat.  We had 152 in attendance which was a little down for us.

Tonight, we had 133 at our church Christmas Party and it was packed out.  We have a little problem to address because we only have 125 chairs for the back.  What are we going to do for the stewardship banquet?  haha, We will figure it out.

I have another busy week on tap with something every night but Thursday.  God is so awesome!!!

I spoke on the gift of significance and how that God’s measuring stick is different than that of the world.  God take the ordinary and does the extraordinary.

I will be mentioning a good bit of stuff this week so definitely check back often.

What I am thinking about now….

I had a pretty eventful day so far and it still has a ways to go.  I have spent a good bit of thought, reflection, and prayer the past few weeks about next year.  I mentioned earlier in a post that there will be several small changes that are going to be happening at New Life.  Today, I will mention another one.

We will be doing more of a systematic themes next year.  I have always been a series kind of guy (sorry mom), but it is just the way the Lord deals with me.  Next year not only will I be speaking on a series but the children and youth will be hearing about the same things as the adults.  I will give you this example:  During the month of January I will be doing the series “No Perfect People”.  Each week we will be adding a layer.  The children will be talking about the same layer as the adults.  We are doing this with the prayerful intentions that conversation is stimulated about what the family is learning about and also what the Lord is speaking to each individual.  We know that it will be a learning experience and that some change will be needed, but I am real excited about where God is taking New Life.

On the road again

I am sitting here in Florida at my in-laws house.  New Life has hired a part-time children’s pastor and we are helping move her family to Cochran today.

I took a few hours off yesterday and got some needed things done.  Mainly I needed them done for my sanity.  I was able to put up the Christmas boxes for my lovely wife :) .  We have so much going on right now at New Life because of the Christmas season.

We are going to be introducing a lot of minor changes to the church  in the next few weeks.  One of the things that we are going to be introducing is that the departments of the church will be changing their names.  Everything will be effective Jan. 1st and will be centered along the theme of New Life.  It is a minor thing, but one that I believe will help us in the long run.  More on this later….

BTW, I few weeks ago I told Sarah that the Lord had been dealing witt me about going on Television.  She said she didn’t want to go on there.  I said that I must be crazy because we do not have any tv stations around where we live.  Flash forward a few weeks and God has opened a door for a conversation to be started with a tv station.  Did I mention the fact that I told no one but Sarah?  Who knows where this is going, but I am willing to explore the details.  Keep me in your prayers.
