We have been gone for a few days to be with my parents for Thanksgiving. I will catch everyone up later this week. This morning at New Life we are giving away a free trip to “The Dillard House”. I thought that I should be a “Joshua” type leader and go spy out the land. For whoever wins, this Land is awesome looking–go and possess the land!

Our family will heading out sometime after lunch today to go my parents home in Mt. Airy, GA. Andrew has been crying every morning begging to go to his “nennie’s”.
We had service last night and I thought that we had a great crowd considering that we had it on Tuesday night. It has been a whirlwind at the office with us trying to catch up and also get 5 days work done in 3. I have a list of things that need to get done. I hope that I get to most of it

We had a great morning service at New Life. The music was excellent and there was just a tremendous Spirit of the Lord present. We had 182 in worship. This morning Danny Joiner spoke on the “Trip of a Lifetime”- Trip to Heaven. He did a great job speaking about Heaven and then we had time of prayer in the altars.
Tonight is the community service for Thanksgiving. It will be great to see everyone from town at New Life. BTW, New Life is starting to run out of parking places—I love it!!!!

It has been a difficult week to say the least. Yesterday, Ispoke at Sierra’s funeral. I still feel as if it is a bad dream. Please keep the NeeSmith family in your prayers.
To be perfectly honest, I am just crashing today. We have been cleaning up around the house trying to get rid of some stuff. We have a dinner we are going to around 1:00 and then I have a meeting this evening.
Tomorrow, we continue on with the “Trip of a Lifetime”. Tomorrow night we are hosting the community service at New Life. Busy times, Busy times.

Yesterday was a tragic day for the New Life family and Cochran, GA. I recieved a phone call about an accident a couple of our teenagers. Sadly, Sierra NeeSmith did not survive.
I am heartbroken for Billy, Myra, and Jesse. Sierra was just a great teenager. She had recently talked to me about teaching a children’s Sunday School class when we had an opening. For you readers of this who aren’t from our church, Sierra kept Bethany during the summers. This should speaks volumes about how much we thought of her.
We are hurting. I am praying for the Lord to please send a supernatural amount of peace and comfort to the NeeSmiths. Feel free to post comments about Sierra on my site. Her mother reads and has also left comments. I know that later on they will be a comfort to her.

I believe that we must have a genuine love for people. It makes a huge difference. Last week, I had the opportunity to be involved with a funeral. Sunday morning, I noticed that several of the family were sitting in various places throughout the church. After church one of them hugged me and thanked me and said this, “I don’t much about this Jesus stuff, but I felt loved by you and your church and I want to learn more. I am going to start coming to church to find out.”
All I could say was thank you. Love matters.

My post have been few this past week. I had a busy week with a funeral, trying to rent a house, a BBQ fundraiser, and then getting sick. I am still sick but I have to get some work done for a meeting tonight and then I have to go to Tifton to a meeting tomorrow. Moving on….
Yesterday was like a blur. Brittany did an awesome job leading worship. I do believe that it was the best that she has ever done. New Life had 169 in attendance. We had a lot of guests and a ton of regulars out. Our attendance is still going up and we give God all of the praise for it!
I spoke on “The trip down memory lane”. We have to be able to forgive others for the harm that they have caused us. I will have the link updated with the message soon.
I will update as much as possible and we should even have an announcement of something happening at the church later in the week.

I came across this and I wanted to share it with my readers. I have said that it is time to pray for our President Elect and I truly encourage you to do this with the utmost fervency and effort.

I was traveling today with Dock Churchwell when I recieved a phone call from a weird number. I answered it and it was none other than my buddy Tim Whitehead calling from Iraq. It made me feel so great to hear his voice. It is amazing how some unexpected blessing can just put you in a better mood. I can’t wait for Tim to get home.

Sunday was so crazy! It started out wide open when our worship leader Cameron Taylor went all gimpy by passing out in the shower at his home. Cameron must be getting soft in his old age ( I can joke now, but I was so worried when Kailey called me). Sarah and I got their two kids as they went to the hospital. Cameron is okay, but a little dehydrated.
With all of the other things going on, I got way behind on my normal Sunday morning routine. Thank God for Tyler Goss and Kaitlin. They were such an awesome help. I also have to thank Kacie Payne for bailing me out with the PowerPoint.
We had so many regular attendee’s out but God keeps blessing us so much as we had a total of 163 in attendance. Praise the Lord!!!!!
I spoke on “The Guilt Trip” and through out the entire message I saw the Holy Spirit moving on and in people’s lives. I saw people moved that I have never seen touched at New Life. It was truly special.
This is an exciting time at New Life and I know that God is in control!
